Tesamorelin: A GHRH-Analog Research Primer

Platinum Bio Labs EditorialJuly 2026
Tesamorelin Research Peptide research primer

Tesamorelin's growth-hormone-releasing-hormone activity and the boundary between research material and approved medicine.

Tesamorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analog that engages the GHRH receptor and stimulates the endogenous growth-hormone and IGF-1 axis.

Established research and approval context

Randomized clinical trials studied tesamorelin in people with HIV-associated abdominal fat accumulation. FDA-approved Egrifta products contain tesamorelin for a specific HIV-lipodystrophy indication and include defined formulations, manufacturing controls, warnings, and limitations.

Research material boundary

A Platinum Bio Labs tesamorelin vial is not an Egrifta product and is not represented as sterile, pharmaceutical-grade, approved, or suitable for administration. The clinical literature cannot establish the identity, safety, or equivalence of a third-party reference material.
