TB-500 is a commercial research name rather than a universally standardized molecular identifier. It is often associated with thymosin beta-4 or a thymosin-beta-4-derived fragment, but those materials can differ in sequence, length, termini, and molecular mass.
What researchers examine
Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid actin-binding peptide studied in cell migration, angiogenesis, and tissue-repair models. A classic rat study reported faster re-epithelialization in a full-thickness wound model after thymosin beta-4 exposure.
How to interpret the evidence
Evidence for the full parent peptide cannot automatically be assigned to every material sold as TB-500. A fragment may have different binding, stability, and activity. The exact sequence and molecular identity on the certificate of analysis are therefore central research variables. The cited animal work does not establish human safety or a therapeutic outcome.
